Sanford Stem Cell Clinical Center at UC San Diego Health exists to transform the enormous potential of stem cell science into real therapies for patients.

The Sanford Center was established in 2013 with a $100-million gift by businessman and philanthropist T. Denny Sanford to advance human health by harnessing the tremendous potential of stem cell science. To this end, the Sanford Center supports high-potential, innovative stem cell research; protects and counsels patients, and works to establish clinical programs with stem cell derived therapies and cures. Clinics and clinical trials will be conducted at Jacobs Medical Center, opening in 2016.

The Sanford Center’s current focus is on diabetes, spinal cord injuries, heart problems, and cancer.
