Founded by Jill and Ed Vedder (Pearl Jam) along with a dedicated group of parents, EB Research Partnership is the largest nonprofit dedicated to funding research aimed at treating and ultimately curing Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a group of devastating and life-threatening genetic skin disorders that affect children from birth.
EB Research Partnership utilizes an innovative business model of venture philanthropy, taking concepts and techniques from venture capital finance and business management and applying them towards achieving research goals. When we make a grant to a project, we retain the added upside of generating a recurring donation stream if the therapy or product is commercially successful. We then use this revenue return to fund additional EB research and will not stop until a cure is achieved.
