WASHINGTON, DC, Aug 21, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) — The Alliance for Regenerative Medicine (ARM), the international organization representing the interests of the regenerative medicine community, today announced that the second annual Investor and Partnering Forum will take place during the Stem Cell Meeting on the Mesa on October 29 and 30, 2012. This meeting gathers the leadership of the regenerative medicine industry including executives from more than 110 ARM member companies and organizations. Situated amidst the nation’s leading research cluster — Southern California’s Torrey Pines Mesa — this forum provides a unique opportunity within the regenerative medicine field to facilitate translational research, encourage PI engagement with the business community, and provide the opportunity for hundreds of business, academic research and investor participants to connect for one-on-one meetings and strategic partnering.

This event was developed by ARM and the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) and will take place at the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine in La Jolla, CA immediately prior to the Stem Cell Meeting on the Mesa Scientific Symposium organized by the Sanford Consortium. In its 7th year, this nationally recognized Symposium is attended by leading scientists and researchers in the field, as well as participants from the business and patient advocacy communities. Combined, these meetings will attract over 800 attendees from around the globe, highlighting the promise and progress of this rapidly evolving, interdisciplinary field.

The Investor and Partnering Forum will include interactive panels addressing critical scientific, commercialization, regulatory and reimbursement issues, as well as feature presentations by leading companies and researchers seeking partners and investors. In addition, one-on-one meetings will be scheduled using a state-of-the-art partnering system to match and connect participants with prospective partners and investors.

Confirmed speakers include representatives from Athersys, CIRM, Life Technologies, Shire and PCT.
